DREAMLAND
UI/UX - digital product concept exploring speculative design and the idea of recording dreams.
Dreamland is an app set in the year 2050. Scientists are working on developing AI technology that is capable of downloading one's thoughts to a computer. Due to development in this field, what if we could download our dreams too?
Dreamland allows our users to record and view dreams, allowing you to endlessly dream again.
Dream with us.
PROMO
Living and dwelling go hand in hand. Dreams can feel extremely real when we’re asleep, and when we do remember our dreams, we may often dwell on them. Our dreams represent fragments of our thoughts, alternative realities we explore without actually having experienced them, and elements of fiction. Dreams may as well be vivid memories and sensations that may never have existed. They form a parallel reality in a world that is uniquely yours. But the problem with dreams is that they are often fleeting.
In this project, I explore recording and traveling through dreams through a digital app, to create a means of storing and traveling through one’s dreams. Key features include the app simultaneously reading and analyzing brain waves while the user sleeps, and translating that to vivid visual memories recorded as a dream.
KEY SCREENS
RECORDING DREAMS WHILE THE USER SLEEPS
Wonder what your dream may mean? The analysis feature lets a user explore a deep dive into your subconscious.
MAP FEATURE
LOGIN SCREEN ANIMATION
This map consists of geographical locations (real or fantasy) that would be locations of where a certain dream may have taken place. This can expand to several planets depending on the level of imagination of the dream and location.
I wanted to create a dream-like soothing illustration to begin the user's journey into their dream world. The illustration leans towards cool blue tones and a floating could pattern against a starry night sky.
The loading animation aims to create an element of delight and surprise as the user is about to dive into what their dreams unfold.
